Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is never your fault. You are not alone, and help is available. If you or someone you know is experiencing GBV, here are the steps you should take:
• If you are in immediate danger, leave the environment if possible and call emergency services or go to a nearby police station or health facility. • Have a safety plan: Know where you can go, whom to call, and how to leave quickly if necessary.
• Talk to someone you trust — a friend, family member, or community leader. • Contact local support services, including: -Women’s shelters, GBV hotlines, Legal aid organizations, Health centers with GBV response services
• Even if there are no visible injuries, seek medical care immediately. • Healthcare providers can: • Treat injuries, Provide emergency contraception and STI prevention, Document evidence (important if you pursue legal action)
• You can report to: The police ,A trusted legal aid office ,A human rights or women’s rights organization Reporting is your right, not your obligation. You decide what’s best for your safety and mental well-being.
